Ed got the last Daily Double in “Your Day in ‘C’ourt” under the $1,200 clue with 8 clues left after it. He was in second place with $8,400, $6,800 less than Tyler’s lead. Ed bet $6,000 and couldn’t come up with anything so he was WRONG.

WHAT IS “OLIVER!” or “GIGI”?
“Oliver!” (1968) is a film version of Lionel Bart’s 1960 stage musical of the same name. Both, of course, are based on “Oliver Twist”, Charles Dickens’ tale of the hapless orphan who falls in with some bad company. The film starred Mark Lester in the title role with Ron Moody as fa*gin, the part he played on stage in 1960. The film won 5 Oscars plus one honorary Oscar for choreography.
“Gigi” (1958) is a romantic comedy starring Leslie Caron in the title role and French heartthrob Louis Jourdan, as well as film and stage veterans, Maurice Chevalier and Hermione Gingold. The film was based upon French author Colette’s 1944 novella of the same name. Nominated for 9 Oscars, “Gigi” won all 9 at the 31st Academy Awards.
Ed got it right with “Gigi”. He bet it all and doubled his score to $5,600.

BE MORE SPECIFIC: SCIENCE ($400) Ocean sediment may be made up of coccolithophores, these tiny organisms 6 billion to the square foot – Emma answered with “plankton” and Ken asked if she could be more specific. She said no. Tyler buzzed in with “phytoplankton” and Ken asked if he could be even more specific. Tyler said no. Ed wasn’t touching it. Ken then said the answer was “algae” but I wasn’t happy with the “be more specifics” so I looked up coccolithophores. Algae isn’t even in the article, but plankton and phytoplankton are!
